The students and Staff should deposit their bags in the personal belongings area provided at the entrance. Loose sheets, Laptop and Money wallet alone would be allowed inside the Library.
Students and Staff should enter the Library with the Bar-coded Identity Card and their entry/exit is recorded by the Stand Alone Scanner kept at the entrance of the Library. Books issue/return/renewal and print out etc are taken care by the Library Staff.
Online public access catalogue is designed to search the print resources using important fields such as Accession Number, Call Number, Subject, Author, Title, Year, Publisher etc. All the books are classified and arranged subject-wise as per Dewey decimal classification. OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) facilitates the staff and students to save their time in locating the books. The student could also know the availability status of books as per their requirement.
New arrivals such as the subject and other books for leisure reading for the Staff and Students are purchased and displayed in the glass showcase and the racks inside the Library.
All the books in this section are classified and arranged subject-wise as per Dewey Decimal Classification. OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) facility has been provided in this section to save the time (4th Law of Library Science).
Students should maintain silence in the Reference section. The books in the Reference Section are not for issue but allowed to take photocopy inside the Library. Back volumes of all periodicals and one set of textbooks are available in the Reference section.
Books published before 2000 are arranged department wise and green colored tags are pasted to differentiate it from the general collections.
Ph.D Theses, M.Phil Dissertations, Institutional Visit reports, Project reports of PG Students etc are arranged department wise for reference.
Preparatory and objective type books related to various competitive examinations on major subjects are kept in this section.
Swayam Prabha is a good initiative by the MHRD, Government of India and the UGC to make use of the Technology for Learning and Teaching. The E-Learning through satellite channel is launched in the Library to telecast the video Lecturers related to the Under Graduate and Post Graduate Students under one roof.
The College Library is conducting two free Computer Literacy certificate courses on MS-Office & Internet and Exposure to Web Resources for the students of both Fore-Noon and After Noon Colleges after their college hours. A certificate will be issued after completion of the programme.
Outsourcing reprography facility is available inside the Library. Re.1/- will be charged per page.
An Open Air Reading Area also called as GREEN LIBRARY - an unique feature of the Library. Seating facility has been provided for the students for leisure reading.
Own book reading facility has been provided for the students to read their own books and to do their record/project work before and after their college hours.
Every UG & PG department of the College has a departmental Library maintained by the Staff in turns. Separate Department Register is maintained by them. Books purchased for projects (Minor & Major) from the UGC grant are also available in the Department Library.
